The Region: Uzès - Nîmes - Remoulins (Pont du Gard)
One of the warmest climatic regions of France - equally in spring, autumn and winter.
The winds (Mistral and Tramontane) do not blow here as much as in the Rhône-valley. It is a landscape of hills and valleys, full of historical sites, in which the ‚Garrigue‘ (typical oak- and bush-woods) changes with vineyards, olive groves, fruit plantations, picturesque medieval villages and small picturesque towns.
Uzès (5 km)
Charming small town with some very interesting ancient buildings, the ducal castle - and no neon lights. It has been the capital of the silk-trade in the region. Very well conserved medieval township. Shopping, visiting the famous market on Saturdays or just enjoying life on one of the café-terraces... Nîmes (16 km)
Very lively town with interesting ancient roman buildings (Arena, Maison Carrée) and a beautiful old town centre. Many cultural events and large shopping facilities. Remoulins (12 km)
Small town, well known by the nearby situated roman aquaeduct „Pont du Gard“.
Blauzac
Typical and quiet wine-growers village with ca. 1‘000 inhabitants (700 locals and ca. 300 guests in summer).
A postoffice, two churches, one café, one café-restaurant.
